The choir has a varied repertoire that includes: complete works from composers such as Handel, Bach, Mendelssohn, John Rutter and Karl Jenkins; selections from West End musical shows; a wide range of stand-alone pieces; folk songs and carols. The choir sings music from different parts of the world, so as well as classical pieces in Latin, it has also sung in several foreign languages such as French, German, Russian and Welsh. Concerts are currently held three times a year – December, March/April and June - in the choir’s home base of St Luke’s Church in Tiptree, but the choir also sings mini-concerts at other venues during the year. The choir has a membership of around 50 and new singers are always welcome. There is no audition, just come along to a rehearsal and join in. |

Witham Amateur Operatic Society (WAOS) is a community-based amateur musical group, affiliated to NODA, the National Operatic and Dramatic Association. The society produces two shows a year in Witham Public Hall, each using full staging and orchestra, bringing the enjoyment of musical theatre to Witham and the surrounding area. Membership of the society is open to all and our current membership includes those actively involved on stage and those who help out in a supporting capacity such as backstage, front of house or committee. | “Tiptree Sings” is a very new choir in Tiptree singing popular songs from the American Songbook & the best pop songs from the last few decades, all in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. No auditions and you don’t need to read music. You just need the enthusiasm to come along and have a great time singing. | ||
