We have set up a Just Giving page so the public can also help us fund raise. The page is in the name of Tiptree Christmas Fayre. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tiptreechristmasfayrelights

We also have a Facebook group page in the name of Tiptree Christmas Fayre.

Tiptree Christmas Fayre (formerly the Edwardian fayre) is happening again this year- it has been sorely missed.

It is an event that brings together the whole community and local businesses for a night of fun, games, Christmas spirit and fundraising. All of the funds raised go back into our community and benefit our local residents.

Our main aims this year are as follows:-

Fund and purchase Christmas lights for the shops in the main high street with a view to these then being available each year thereafter.

To create a Christmas community spirit and feel good factor about the Village of Tiptree.

Encourage local shopping for the benefit of Tiptree village businesses and shops.

Promote small home businesses, hobbiests and arts & crafts.

Allow clubs and groups to promote themselves, encourage awareness and raise funds

To put a smile on the faces of the villagers that live and work in the village and bring the community together.

After all, we are the biggest village in England!.

Lots of local businesses are taking part by opening their shops or having their own stalls outside.

  • Food stalls selling Candy Floss, Hog Roast, roast chestnuts, baked potatoes, curry, mulled wine and more. All existing food outlets will also be opening.

  • Kelvedon Rotary Club are supplying Father Christmas and his sleigh. Additionally we are securing some Carol singers and a brass band (Salvation Army), small rides for children, clubs doing displays and dancing etc, face painting and games for children.

  • We will have a large Christmas tree at the heart of the Fayre based in St Lukes Churchyard.

  • We will have stalls lining Church Road, plus more in the Community Hall and St Lukes Church Hall. So far 65 stalls have signed up with lots more interested. If you would like a stall, please e-mail Amanda at tiptreefayrestalls@outlook.com You will need to provide your own table, light, power and insurance.

  • A central stage will host a variety of entertainment from primary school children, dance groups, ladies quartets and more. We will also have Morris dancing, WW1 Enactment and a battlefield ambulance.

Additionally there will be more entertainment in St Lukes Church.

We would like to hear from volunteers who can commit to assisting with the organisation of this event during the day and evening of the 21st November, helping us deal with road closures, general marshalling on the night, some electrical assistance and a general handyman.

We still also need businesses to support us by making a donation towards the fayre costs which will help fund the event and get Christmas lights into the high street.

Anyone who will advertise the event for us on their premises.

We also need tombola prizes donated – bottles, gifts and chocolates for the main raffle plus any shops that would be generous enough to donate a voucher or a hamper etc would be very much appreciated.

We hold public meetings on the 1st or 2nd Tuesday each month at the Exchange Cafe at 7pm to update everyone on where we are and what we still need to achieve. Everyone welcome.

Please help support us on what we hope will be a great night for the village of Tiptree!!
