We are planning to have the Poppy Appeal in Tiptree this year between 25th October and 9th November at Asda, Tesco and Wilkin's Tea Room/Shop. I need some more volunteers to help collect. The first week we will be collecting mainly at Tesco and Wilkin's and doing fewer collections in those locations the second week. We plan to start collecting at Asda from 1st November and there will be tins at various local businesses from 25th October to 11th November. Remembrance Sunday will be on the 9th. The Tiptree District now encompasses Great & Little Braxted, Messing and Layer Breton. I am also looking after Layer de la Haye. See Special Events for commemoration parade and service. New collectors are always welcome, so please get in touch with Sue to volunteer, you will need to fill in this editable form and send it to me. Any businesses and organisations which haven’t taken part before are also encouraged to get in touch. Shortages for Poppy Appeal Collections 2025 (week 1 and week 2 will be shown soon) Ideally there are two people collecting together at Asda and Tesco and one at Wilkin & Sons, as you can see from the list below there are some gaps. We can always start late or close early. The most important ones are the ones marked with red. I need at least one volunteer for each slot. A - means at Asda, T - means at Tesco, W - means at Wilkins & Sons. Please can you fill some of these gaps. Also please note we may have to close early on some days. Saturday’s are our best days usually. Note the times are different at Wilkin & Sons from the 4th November. So please get in touch if you can volunteer. |

If you don't like collecting, maybe you could help us set up or close down.
We shall be setting up on 23rd October between 09:30 and 15:45.
We shall be closing down on 13th November between 09:30 and 15:45.

The legion Poppy Shop is open all year round, so you can buy items for special occasions; but the normal appeal items will be available in Tiptree during the appeal period to receive your donations.
