We are a non profit-making organisation with about 80 members; solely for the entertainment, enjoyment and companionship of our members, with monies raised being donated to various charities.

During the year we also hold fund raising stalls, for example ‘bring-and-buy’, cake stalls, table-top sales and plant stalls, etc., to help raise more funds for our charities. We also hold a special coffee evening – in aid of St Helena Hospice.

All ladies are very welcome, and you don’t have to be a member of any church to attend. So please just come along on the appropriate Thursday evening and try us out.

New to the village or simply wish to do something different?

We started in 1970 as a wine and beer making club and although members still brew their own and compete in our annual competitions, we are now more of a social club meeting monthly. We are a friendly club of both ladies and gentlemen and mainly couples, with various themes each month, not always about drink and you don’t have to make your own wine or beer.

We have an event or theme each month, some with drinks supplied, others you would bring your own bottle of wine, beer or soft drink. There are always nibbles and sometimes additional food.

We are a very friendly club and you are welcome to come and try out a night for free. Just turn up and make yourself known to Neil or Jenny and bring a drink for yourself.

Why not join us for a hearty breakfast and fellowship? On most occasions it is a full English breakfast; sometimes it is a good quality buffet-style. We as a church aim to bring everyone together as a community regardless of their domination or belief. The Breakfast Club is still running strong, with a steady flow of attendance from the locality. Men and women of all ages are welcome, just let us know if you plan to come. Donations to cover costs are appreciated.

Breakfast starts with grace to give thanks to God before our meal.

A quest speaker normally from a local charity or organisation then gives a talk to the group, lasting between 20 – 30 minutes with questions and answer time. See the Tiptree URC website for the current programme.

If you feel you can participate by giving a short presentation about your organisation or a subject of general interest please contact Rev. Ken Thom.

Learn, Laugh, Live!

Retired, semi-retired, wanting to do things you may have always wanted to try or do more of, but previously did not have the time or opportunity to indulge? Welcome to Tiptree u3a.

What is Tiptree u3a?

Tiptree u3a is a registered charity, one of over 1,000 u3a groups in the country spread throughout cities, towns and villages. Nationally there are over 350,000 members and is for people who are either not in full-time employment or are retired or semi-retired.

Tiptree u3a is an enjoyable way of bringing people together for learning, fitness, leisure, and fun, whilst enjoying the camaraderie and friendship of other similar minded people.

In addition to offering new interests and learning opportunities, the u3a can provide mutual support and companionship which many members value greatly.

Members share their knowledge and experience and learn together, deciding for themselves what groups or events they want to attend. Why not come along and try something new!
